    Wow That knife is great cuts like a Samurai sword. I have always wanted a knife like that so when you  cut something thin it's just that.I love trying new things never had a good knife would like to have one in my lifetime.

    First of all, thank you for doing such great fair and just reviews over tutorials on all that you do there ~
    I've just recently received a Kuma chef knife from reading and watching that review on KUMA knife. However, the sharpness of this knife is really not anywhere close to how it was described in your video. Please don't get me wrong, I ain't here to complain, instead, I would only like to let you know how it is on my end and see if you've heard anyone telling you the same.
    Also, the back of the knife is rather sharp that would actually hurt…

    Sorry. Not related to the Kuma knife, but related to reliable inexpensive knives in general. I've noticed that a few people are interested in the Victorinox fiberox. I think it might be important to reassess the stupid ATK test video and all the clingers on who have piggybacked off that video without actually knowing about knifes construction or steel.

    Vicky was perfectly placed in it's niche market 30 years ago. It used to be the number one "house knife" (owned by the company in case the cook forgot their roll at home). It was ruggged, reliable, and great priced in case they were accidentally damaged or accidentally thrown out. Now the primary customer of the Victorinox isn't even the niche market it was originally designed for. Now it's marketed to home cooks.

    But there have been competitors, most notably the Wusthof pro that have been designed specifically to beat vicky at the niche market and do it for less money. Better steel, better handle material, better handle ergonomics, better handle to blade angle, better bevel, longer edge retention and easier sharpening and it's anti-bacterial.
    The dexter sanisafe is a third the price of the victorinox and almost the same knife. Mercer millennia is cheaper, but better. Mercer millennia, dexter icut pro, tojiro dp are all about the same price and far better.

    Sorry for hijacking this off the HIGH VALUE Kuma video, but there were several comments in the thread about vicky which is NOT what people think it is

    Im a knife collector, i happen to also like kitchen knives, i really wanted a good knife, my mom preferes to use their kitchen knives dull, i only have a small sheepsfoot knife wich is decently sharp,, my mom says its safer to use a dull kitchen knive, so yeah i would love a good kitchen knive,

    In various photos of the Kuma it looks as if the bottom of the bolster sticks out past the edge of the blade slightly. Is this the case?

    Hello, I just found your channel today, I just subscribed to your channel also, thanks for the great info. Are you still giving away knives? I know it is almost Oct. but just finding your channel, I wasn't sure if you still were doing that or not.

    I'm a retired single guy that is a self taught cook, always learning, I worked as a flight paramedic on a helicopter system but injured myself on a rescue and had to retire early in life. I am a single dad and recently a new grandfather for the first time, YEA. I taught my daughter how to cook and now she can out cook me on any given day, but that is fine with me. I have been using a collection of old cheap knives for many years now. I'm on a fixed income because of the work disability and find it difficult to purchase any knives of good quality. If you could help me out in that department I would be very grateful, if not, that's OK also.

    Thanks for considering me for a knife and I look forward to learning more from your videos.

    Now that I've been retired for about 8 years I have become the cook in my home. It's become obvious that the knives I have just don't do the job. The Kuma Chef Knife would be a welcome and get plenty of use.

    if i could be blessed to have that knife i would gift it and use it to teach my girlfriend on how to handle it with confidence i the kitchen and how to maintain it. and if she doesnt maintain it well i will keep ot nice and new then i could report to you have the average person would put their knives through and how the kuma holds ip in those vircumstances. and i would love maintaining the blade!

    It's Sept.14, 2017 and I am watching your video for the first time. I decided after watching, to purchase the knife through your link with the 20% discount. Well, the knife is NOT $20 dollars, it's $25.24 and so even with the 20% discount, it is still more expensive than you claimed in your video. What has happened? Did Kuma raise their price or did Amazon? That is a big price increase. Over 25%!!!

    I've watched a few of your vids and I can't help but notice that the only thing that you cut is paper. These are not pocket knives In the real world they cut chicken, meat , veggies etc. These are not realistic conditions, try cutting Tomatoes and Bell Peppers both are notorious for dulling straight edge steel blades very quickly.
    It might be a good idea to start doing real edge retention tests cutting Sisal rope or cardboard, these are both hard on knife edges..
    I guess that I forgot to mention that I am an avid knife collector of both kitchen and folding pocket knives I bought most of my knives with the help of YouTube reviews. I suggest that you watch a couple of the folding knife videos and start doing real reviews. After watching your video I feel like I just went to the State Fair and watched on of the booths hawking a Ginsu knife.

    I forgot to mention that I am a trained Chef looking to get some decent knives for the cooks which they will buy and take care of but after watching this video I have no idea about the performance of the knife. I apologize for being hard on you but videos like this make me feel like I am watching QVC at 3:00 am. I hope that instead of getting angry you will read between the lines and see this as constructive criticism. I have a kitchen with 20 people and I am used to being hard on them, I lost my kid gloves a long time ago. Drop me a note when you make some new videos. Peace out

    That knife looks awesome. My wife hates cutting veggies and I love cutting them for her and help her out in the kitchen. The knives we have are very dull but I try to do an excellent job with em. Getting my hands on that Kuma knife will make us both very happy. Hope you still have one of them laying around. Btw I love your content. Keep it up.

    Today I received mine from Amazon, the first impression is not as expected….
    The knife is NOT as sharp like you showed in the video (6:306:40). I'll sharpen & polish and will let you know the results.
    At this point, even my Ikea chef knife cuts magazine paper better.
    I expected to see steel marking on the knife, sharp out of the box, maybe I got to high expectations:)))))))
